How the AI Analyzes Your Spending
This alters how the bot gives advice. Before, if you asked a language model how to save up for a car, you got a generic list about budgeting and making coffee at home. It was useless. Now, it looks at your real data. It can scan your last three months of spending, pinpoint the exact subscriptions you ignore, and suggest a literal dollar amount to cut from your grocery budget to hit your goal.
It remembers context, too. Tell it you have a specific debt to pay off, and it logs that detail for your next conversation. There is also an Intuit integration in the works. If the bot flags a weird tax implication from a stock trade, you can push a button to consult a human tax pro.
The Privacy and Price Catch
The obvious issue here is privacy. Letting an AI ingest your daily spending habits requires a lot of trust. OpenAI states the connection is strictly read-only. The bot cannot transfer funds or pay bills, and you can sever the link and delete the synced data at any time.
But you probably don't have to worry about the privacy trade-off right now anyway. The feature is currently locked behind ChatGPT's Pro tier, which costs $200 a month and is only available in the US. You have to pay a massive premium just to have an AI tell you where your money is going.
